Mr. Serkowski has been involved in the development and interpretation of CFD models with a strong emphasis on 3D data visualization. His work has focused on models of river channels and hydroelectric projects, though he has had experience in projects as diverse as fuel cells and rat lungs. His specialty is creating fully animated movies of complex three-dimensional results. Currently, he is working with a tracker capable of modeling the trajectories of 3D bodies through a simulated flow field. This model, which incorporates particle mass and drag, wall collisions, and turbulent diffusion, can be used to aid in understanding the conditions to which fish passing through dams are subjected.
